RELEASE DATE: 19th NOV 2021
London, United Kingdom Oct 18, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – This November, Astrobass Recordingz mainstay Piker makes his Ruff DnB debut with the furious new jump-up single “Mars Attacks”, its name a testament to his fascination with sci-fi aesthetics.
Hailing from the West Midlands city of Worcester, the seasoned DJ/producer (born Luke Whitefoot) has increasingly gained recognition for his rugged D&B creations over the course of the past decade. While committed to sharing free downloads with the masses, his back catalogue – which spans various styles of D&B including old-school techstep – has also included appearances on RW Digital and Phantom Dub Digital.
Initially established as an offshoot of Ruff Radio, Ruff DnB has gone from strength to strength since its 2008 inception, welcoming top dogs like Macky Gee and Levela into the fold with some of their formative works. Relaunched last year following a hiatus, the London label has since invited the likes of Indivision, Blue Frequency, and Ivan L on board and continues to champion new names and make new signings.
A full-throttle journey through extraterrestrial sonics, “Mars Attacks” introduces itself with a pairing of pounding breakbeats and eerie oscillations akin to alien communications. Before long, it’s launched into stonking crescendos furnished with snappy, growling basslines and chugging, metallic synth work which will no doubt have listeners instantly hooked and clamouring to hear it on a big Soundsystem.
“Mars Attacks” is available from a vast array of digital service providers on Friday 19 November 2021
